I have a background in photography and television production. During the dot com bubble, I ran an internet company and when that ended I decided to return to my first love, writing.
I wrote a book called Sleeping with Rachel, a claustrophobic literary novel about a war photographer with PTSD. The novel was a semi-finalist in Amazon’s Breakthrough Novel Award. Although my entry didn’t win, it received a lot of praise that encouraged me to try again.
I began to read a lot of crime novels by Raymond Chandler and Patricia Highsmith, then to newer books by Lee Child and Michael Connelly. These books were more like the movies and TV shows I like to watch and I decided to write my own. Night Passenger is my first published novel.
I live in Scotland with my family.
