Loved this book from 1st page to the last. Well written with a great story line. Love the way the author integrates all the main characters seeing their point of views. Can’t wait to read the next one.
Solid Modern Los Angeles Noir
This is quite the gripping read with a good dose of twists and turns, a botched heist, betrayals, a man hunt and enough romance to make the entire story a page-burner. Nice tight writing delivers a fast paced, action packed thriller. Chris Thorne is a memorable and enjoyable character that you feel compelled to follow along beside. Night Passenger is a deft and elegant underworld debut by this author. Nicely done.
If more books follow, I’ll be sure to pick them up.
Great New Author
This debut novel grabbed me from the start. It read like a cable mini-series with multiple crescendos and interesting characters. Looking forward to the next adventure with Thorne.
A good, fast paced thriller.
For a first book this shows a talent for the hidden clues you undoubtedly missed as you turned the pages. I look forward to seeing what becomes of the hero Chris Thorne and the author. If you like Lee Childs and Michael Connelly this is for you. David Stanley is headed that way.

Great book and hopefully a precursor to a long running series of books, as good as Lee Child, Ian Rankin and Mark Dawson.

A gripping and well thought out plot, the anti-hero is great, lots of twists and turns to keep the reader enthralled.

This is the best thriller novel I have read in the last 10 years.
I never write reviews, but I had to for this book. Quite simply, it is amazing. After reading it parts would come back to me while I was doing other things, and I would smile, remembering it. Some crime books now are utterly forgettable, but this one is not like that. Characters were all fully realized and believable, they stopped being ‘characters’ or featureless good guys and bad guys.
I look forward to reading more by this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s the kind you can put down and come back to later, and be right back in the story. Captivating story line that stays in your memory, perhaps a little gruesome at times – but it certainly adds to the flavor. Very well written. Thank you David.

An impressive first novel, with a good story line and fast pace.
The author David Stanley’s excellent writing style is very much in the US crime genre, and is reminiscent of the work of Lee Child, but with some of the dark humour of Raymond Chandler.
This is a well-crafted story with three dimensional characters and a relentless pace, and the tension is maintained right up to the end. Very enjoyable, can’t wait for the sequel!

Lots of twists and turns and I found this to be really good read.
The reader is given a lot of insights into different characters and it held my attention to the end. Having completed the book, as I reflect, it has covered a lot of ground. It is little wonder I feel exhausted. Well done to the author, David Stanley, and I very much look forward to joining the character Chris Thorne on another roller coaster of a ride in the future. A very well deserved 5 stars.
